Form and Function

The objective of this project is to explore the analysis and transformation of existing prototypes (forms and patterns) based on new functions.  The use of conceptual combinations, convergent diagrams and divergent solutions in generating ideas are incorporated.  The role of structure is also emphasized as a form and pattern maker.

A layout a 3 x 3 table and including conceptual spans along the top and movement analogies along the side and made to envision what a possible solution would be like if combined conceptually. With the 3 x 3 table I applied the movement analogies to the prototype to come up with 18 different concepts. The form of the prototypes were then adjusted to fit the new functions that were applied.
